Carla wins principal TVC role for Russia’s popular juice brand Tonus.

Artists Group knew when they received the story board from Okey Dokey in Moscow, that the hardest part of the production would be finding the right leading lady for the job.

Artists Group also knew that the last dancing TVC for Tonus, was shot in Miami and cast in New York, so they had a lot to live up to! The team decided that they would cast in Portugal, Moscow and London in order to find their star.

Director Ryan McFaul elaborated, ’Our 50's style Technicolor musical TVC, demanded a classic leading lady. She had to be beautiful, of course, but more importantly she needed to channel the charisma of Audrey Hepburn. She also had to be a trained dancer and convincingly learn to lip sinc in Russian in three days. Oh, and did I mention that she had to be willing to hang off the edge of speedboat in the ocean for our waterskiing shots too?! It was a tall order, to put it lightly.' Added Ryan.

'As is so often the case, casting was happening at the last possible minute with no time for callbacks.' Said Ryan. 'Carla brought us that unique blend of beauty, confidence, charm, dance training, and the enthusiasm to tackle this rigorous shoot. On set she looked like someone tore her out of a 1956 movie poster. We were very lucky to find her.’

Artists Group flew Carla to Portugal for three days rehearsals and two days filming. She only needed one day to run through the action, and then she spent the next two days rehearsing her lines in Russian.

'Carla danced, sung & hung off the back of a speed boat through two long days of shooting… and was still a joy to work with!' Said Artists Group Executive Producer, James Dubec. Tonus is Pepsico´s leading fruit juice brand in Russia, and even its name is about promoting good health and vitality, as 'Tonus' in Russian means 'in good shape'.
